‘Decide. Design tomorrow today’ was the theme of the sixth annual i3 Summit, hosted by Sanlam Investments and Glacier by Sanlam at Spier Wine Farm on 11 June and Sandton Convention Centre two days later.
This year’s investment summit focused on the disruption shaping economics, politics and our everyday activities. Disruption can be both destructive and creative at the same time, highlighting the need to be aware of the potential pitfalls while at the same time pursuing the opportunities it presents. This means being informed.
Staying relevant and giving the most suitable advice in a world that is impacted by key changes in the consumer, investment and retirement landscape – amongst others – is critical to ensure that financial intermediary practices remain sustainable into the future.
The Glacier Storms River Traverse took place from 10 -12 August in the scenic Tsitsikamma Valley. The annual, three-day mountain bike stage race, organised by Dryland Event Management, has manageable stage distances ranging from 35 – 65 kms and is geared towards a fun-filled week-end with activities for the family too.

Sanlam Investments and Glacier by Sanlam hosted the fifth i3 (Independent Investment Intelligence) Summit on 22 and 24 May in Cape Town and Johannesburg this year. The theme of the summit was “A future to thrive in – investing for generations to come.”

The 2018 Glacier Cradle Traverse took place from 6 – 8 April at Avianto Estate in Muldersdrift, Gauteng. The annual event features three-day, two-day and fun ride options and provides mountain bikers with the chance to explore some of Gauteng’s best singletracks in a relatively non-competitive atmosphere.
Incorporating a water theme, this year’s investment summit focused on the critical investment choices that financial intermediaries need to make to generate growth for their clients in a landscape “parched” for opportunities.
The beautiful and untouched gem of the Garden Route, will host riders on this 3-day mountain bike stage ride. With tracks hugging the rugged coastline and views only seen on postcards, this ride is designed around the intermediate cyclist looking for an adventure without having to spend hours training every day.
