You can help people and animals in need, without leaving your sofa

Ubuntu is a value that we hold dear at Glacier. It expresses our belief that we are all connected. The Glacier We Care website is a practical initiative underpinned by this value.
Glacier We Care was created early in COVID lockdown as an online response to people in need and animals who were suffering or abandoned during this extraordinary time. The pandemic has had a profound adverse economic effect on most South Africans, and the numbers of people in need and abandoned animals have increased significantly in South Africa since 2020.
Post-COVID, the challenges are not going away, and there are many community organisations that need our help.
Glacier We Care aims to shed a spotlight on various organisations doing incredible work in our communities and to provide a platform for financial support. It is our intention to change the charities periodically, so that as many organisations as possible can benefit from this initiative.
Recently, we chose four new organisations that anyone can donate to on the website. The organisations are as follows:
- Door of Hope
- Hannah’s Place of Safety
- Villa of Hope
- Phoenix Animal Care and Treatment (PACT)
We’ve made it easy for you to help
Anyone can support the organisations on Glacier We Care. You can make a difference with an online donation as small as R50. And of course, you can donate more if you wish to. We have partnered with the payment platform PayFast, and all of the organisations are registered beneficiaries, so the money that you donate goes directly to the organisation you choose to support.
