In an ongoing effort to ensure that we have the compulsory client information required by the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), we have enhanced some functionalities on Glacier’s intermediary web to allow you to conveniently view and update your clients’ information.
What has changed?
We have extended the “Client due diligence” tab on the intermediary web to display the outstanding client details for each client, as well as each plan where information about the source of money is outstanding.
How to update and submit the information on the intermediary web
Please use the intermediary web to review and update your clients’ details.
- Log on to Sanport,
- Click on Secure Access,
- Select Glacier by Sanlam, and
- Select the My practice tab.
Use the Client due diligence menu item under Practice information to view and update your clients’ outstanding information. The following options are available on the Client due diligence page:
Source of money
To update the source of money in one view, select the Source of money radio button. You can then select one source from the dropdown list for each investment.
After you have selected the source of money, click on Save changes. If you agree with the updated information you provided, click on Accept.The source of money information will then be saved, and the plan numbers will be removed from the list.
Client details
To update other outstanding information per client, select the Client details radio button. The outstanding information per client will be listed in the table under the heading Outstanding information.
To update a client’s information, click on the blue arrow. You will then proceed to the Client details page to update the outstanding information indicated in the table. After you have updated the outstanding information, click on Submit. If you agree with the changes, click on Accept on the Confirmation screen.
What will happen if the required information is not updated or your clients’ information is incomplete?
Clients will still be able to transact on their investment. However, there might be a delay in finalising transactions as we will have to request the missing information in order to complete the request.
